Evander Sno missed a glorious chance to give the home side the lead after only a minute, but his header from six yards was straight at ADO keeper Coutinho.
On 17 minutes ADO Den Haag took the lead as Dion Malone sent an excellent cross into the back post, and Roland Alberg was there to head past Jan Seda.
Four minutes before the break RKC found the equaliser when a long ball set Romeo Castelen through on goal, and the winger slipped the ball past Coutinho to make it 1-1.
RKC had the best two chances of a disappointing second half, with Damiano Schet forcing Coutinho into a great save, before Robert Braber’s effort came back of the woodwork.
The point keeps RKC in 16th place, while ADO Den Haag move up one to 14th.
