The home side had the lead after only six minutes with Romeo Castelen allowed too much room on the edge of the box to pick his spot, and the winger made no mistake firing into the corner.
NEC equalised on 23 minutes as a scramble in the penalty box saw Navarone Foor fire into the roof of the net from a few yards out.
Defender Lasse Nielsen then stole ahead of his marker to powerfully head NEC into a 2-1 lead ten minutes later following a free kick.
After the break RKC pushed for an equaliser, but as they failed to take their chances, NEC punished them with a third goal on 72 minutes, as Michael Higdon converted past Seda from close range.
Their first win in four games moves NEC above Cambuur and into 15th spot ahead of tomorrows games, while RKC stay 13th.
