It took 12 matches, but RKC Waalwijk finally tasted victory in the Eredivisie on Saturday. Heracles Almelo were defeated 2-0.

The two teams met in the KNVB Cup in midweek with Heracles coming out 4-3 winners. However, on Saturday, RKC Waalwijk got revenge as they finally got a win after ten losses and one draw so far in the league.

After 11 minutes, Sylla Sow cut inside from the wing before hammering a strike into the net to give RKC the lead.

The home side continued to dominate but they failed to kill the game until deep into injury time. Kevin Vermeulen found the bottom corner with a low strike.

The victory isn’t enough to move RKC off the bottom of the table, while Heracles are seventh.
