Ola John has returned to the Netherlands with the winger signing a one-year deal with RKC Waalwijk.

The 28-year-old was a free agent after leaving Vitoria Guimaraes, and had been linked with a move back to FC Twente earlier in the window.

However, John has now joined RKC Waalwijk, on a deal until the end of the season.

John started his career with FC Twente and moved to Benfica in 2012. He could not find success in Lisbon. He had loan spells with Hamburg, Reading, Wolves and Deportivo la Coruna before finally joining Vitoria Guimaraes in 2018.
