Brabants Dagblad reports that the taxes are for unpaid payroll taxes and fines for two of their former players Dejan Govedarica and Yuri Petrov who played for the club in early 2000s.
This is what club’s director Remco said to Voetbal international about the issue,“We do not have at our disposal, no,”
“I do not expect that we have to pay, if it comes to that. The amount will immediately destroy people the Tax is not there to make.
“The financial setback already has direct impact on the budget for the new season”
The club plan to discuss the situation with tax authorities and opportunities for reprieves. They can also go to Supreme Court against the ruling.
RKC Waalwijk operate on the lowest budget of all clubs in Eredivisie at 4.9 Million Euros.
