The Bayern Munich winger was a doubt for the friendlies with Wales and Germany, but the 31-year-old felt it was important to be present as Netherlands plan for the World Cup qualifiers next September.
Robben told De Telegraaf, “I’ve already spoken to the coach, but it was more about my personal situation”
“And if I wanted to think about the current state of affairs. This is a new starting point for it Dutch team. ”
“It really does not make sense, but it is the reality. We have ourselves to blame that we are playing lousy matches. We need to work hard to turn the tide. I have my ideas.”
Robben will only be available for the friendly with Wales on Friday after consultations with his club Bayern Munich.
