Roda JC started brightly, and Tyton had to make a fine stop in the PSV goal to deny Guus Hupperts one-on-one, whilst the keeper also stopped a volley from Krisztian Nemeth.
After nine minutes the visitors took the lead, when Memphis Depay played an excellent through ball to Tim Matavz, who made no mistake when faced with Filip Kurto to beat.
On 37 minutes, Roda JC should have been level, but Tyton made a great stop to deny Pluim, then Mark-Jan Fledderus put the rebound wide on the volley.
Just before the break, Mitchell Donald gave the ball straight to Matavz, and PSV had a four on two break, but when Oscar Hiljemark was played through his dinked shot hit the post.
After constant Roda pressure in the second half, the home side finally leveled on 67 minutes, when Hupperts poked the ball into an unmarked Fledderus in the box, and the captain finished past Tyton.
Substitute Florian Jozefzoon should have put PSV back in front but Kurto dived at the attackers feet to deny him, and Matavz couln’t finish the rebound.
On 70 minutes Depay was shown his second yellow card for a late challenge, and was sent off. His first yellow was for a dive in the box.
With five minutes to go, the home side made the man advantage count, with Nemeth turning on the box and firing a low shot into the bottom corner to put Roda 2-1 up.
There was a lengthy delay at the end with Tyton coming off injured after colliding with the post, with PSV making all their changes, they finished with nine men, and Ola Toivonen in goal. The injury looked a bad one, and the Polish goalkeeper was taken away in an ambulance. We wish him a speedy recovery.
The loss signals PSV’s worst run since 2004, as they have only two wins in their last eight league games, and they fail to go top. Roda JC are now ninth after the three points, and it was a fully deserved win.
