Marko Vejinovic joined Feyenoord in the summer of 2015 but has struggled to make an impact at the Eredivisie leaders, starting just twenty-six games. The midfielder, who turns 27 in February, is thought to be unhappy at Feyenoord and Roda JC are looking to capitalise by offering him an escape route whether it is a loan or on a permanent deal.
Roda JC are thought to be interested in signing a number of players this January and director, Wim Collard, confirmed this telling 1Limburg.nl “We will not hire as many players as last year, but we are looking to sign players that will address our major shortcomings.”
On the speculation regarding Vejinovic, Wim Collard acknowledged that the midfielder would be a boost to the squad, telling 1Limburg.nl, “Vejinovic is not satisfied in Rotterdam and such a player we would love to have here at Roda. We have warm contact [about the transfer of Vejinovic] with Feyenoord director Martin van Geel.”
The midfielder is currently valued at € 2.5 million, with a contract until 2019, so it is likely that any deal would be a short term loan with an option to purchase, as this would be beneficial to all parties.
Moving Vejinovic would be agood for him and Feyenoord. But Roda doesn’t have any money to buy him. Loaning him out doesn’t help Feyenoord at all. TBH I wouldn’t be shocked to see AJAX make a move so he can reunite with his former coach at Vitesse, where they both had a ton of success. If feyenoord sells him they then have money to make other moves which should happen.
