The 31-year-old joins Jose Mourinho’s side on a loan but they have an option to make the deal permanent for €8 million.
Wijnaldum told the Roma website, “It is exciting to be a Roma player now. All the people I spoke to gave me an excellent feeling about the club and the fans.
“With the efforts Roma made to close the deal, they showed how much they wanted me, as the fans have shown in recent days. That gives a player a lot of confidence.”
Wijnaldum is hoping the move can see him regain his place in the Netherlands squad. Louis van Gaal dropped the midfielder due to his lack of playing time at PSG.
Wijnaldum joined PSG last summer from Liverpool and he made 38 appearances for PSG, mostly from the bench.
Roma Locuta, Causa finita Est. Rome has a long history of offering a second chance to all and sundry. Under the watchful eyes of the legendary gaffer Senhor José Mourinho, the flying Dutchman Wijnaldum could soon return to his awesome best. Good for Georginio, Oranje, and for the team from the Eternal City.
