Romario has agreed to become an ambassador for PSV Eindhoven in Brazil.

The legendary striker was back in Eindhoven on Friday to accept the role at the club, where he spent five years between 1988 and 1993.

The 53-year-old told the PSV website, “PSV is my club, I think it’s a great honour to get this new role.”

Earlier this season, former PSV stars Carlos Salcido and Francisco Rodriguez became ambassadors for the club in Mexico. Commercial director Frans Janssen said, “Agile agreements have been made with Salcido and Rodriguez about their employability. Carlos has already made a first contribution in a commercial process for a sponsor. We make similar agreements with Romário.”

Romario made 143 appearances for PSV, scoring 127 goals.
