Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the Serie A duo have been watching the Icelandic goal-machine and are ready to battle for his signature in the winter.
Lazio see the striker as a potential replacement for the ageing Miroslav Klose, while Roma are looking to build a team capable of winning the Serie A title, with Kevin Strootman a summer purchase from PSV.
Finnbogason,24, has been attracting attention from all over Europe after scoring 28 goals in 35 appearances last season, and is currently the Eredivisie’s top scorer with 14 strikes in only 11 matches.
Scottish Champions Celtic failed with a move in the summer, while English duo West Ham United and Newcastle United have also been linked with the striker.
Heerenveen will want to keep hold of their star until at least the summer, but with a lack of money at the club, a big bid may force the clubs hands. Any offer would have to be around or above the €10 million mark with Finnbogason under contract until 2015.
