MLS side FC Cincinnati have appointed Ron Jans as their new head coach.

Earlier this summer, Gerard Nijkamp was named the new technical director of the MLS side and he immediately looked for a reunion with Jans. The two worked well together with PEC Zwolle.

Jans was technical manager with Groningen last season but left because he wanted to return to a head coach role. The 60-year-old will be presented to the press on Monday.

FC Cincinnati are currently sitting bottom of the Eastern Conference after 24 rounds of matches and have an eight point gap between them and Columbus Crew.

Jans will be the second Dutch coach in the MLS with Frank de Boer currently in charge of Atlanta United.
