Netherlands are looking to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to England on Friday when they face Portugal in Geneva.

Reflecting on Friday’s loss, Koeman said, ”I have since watched the match back that we played against England last Friday. I do not think we played as bad as some people first made out to be.

”We knew that we did not create much against England in Amsterdam but England also did not create many chances.

”It is clear that we are no longer the best in the world and we must try in other facets to get results and grow as a team. We are also playing a new formation and we want to see us playing better football against Portugal tomorrow.

On his team selection, Koeman said, ”I have made no agreements with any clubs about some players not playing in both matches if I wanted to I could pick the same starting eleven that played against England.

”I will not be playing the same eleven against England because I want to see new players play.”

On opponents Portugal and their star man Cristiano Ronaldo, Koeman added, “We have a strange history against Portugal. We know that they are a strong team and they have one of the best players in the world in their team in Cristiano Ronaldo.

”We have no special plans for Cristiano Ronaldo but I expect my defenders to do their homework. Players like Cristiano Ronaldo keep going and can change matches and make the difference.

”Who knows maybe someday we will have a player like Cristiano Ronaldo but at the current time there are only two players of that world level him and Lionel Messi. ”
