PSV Eindhoven started their Eredivisie campaign with a 2-0 victory at Heracles Almelo.

With one eye on Benfica in midweek, Roger Schmidt decided to rest a number of players with Davy Propper, Yvon Mvogo, Yorbe Vertessen, Bruma and Mauro Junior all starting.

PSV took a while to get going but they did take the lead before the break with Bruma latching onto a Propper pass before slotting the ball low past the goalkeeper.

In the 64th minute, Noni Madueke doubled the PSV lead after a nice piece of individual skill before firing past Koen Brucker.

Heracles could not mount a response and PSV comfortably saw out the rest of the game to claim victory.

PSV now takes confidence into the first leg of their clash with Benfica on Wednesday.
