The Colombian rejected a move to Barcelona last summer as they only saw him as a member of their B team. Sanchez instead chose Ajax and has had an excellent first season in Amsterdam.

Various reports in Spain are linking the Catalan giants with another move for the 20-year-old but this time for the first team.

Speaking to Radio Barcelona, Sanchez said on the rumours, “Obviously I would like to play for Barcelona.

“It is a huge compliment [to be linked with them]. Who doesn’t want to play for a club as big as Barca? Everyone wants to be part of a team like that, they’re one of the world’s elite.

“I want to be clear that right now I am completely focused on Ajax.”

Sanchez would reportedly cost Barcelona around €25 million, which is a big profit for Ajax on the €5 million they paid last summer.
