Schalke 04 has confirmed the signing of Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar on a deal until the end of the season.

The 37-year-old has decided to try and help his former club avoid relegation from the Bundesliga this season.
Huntelaar told the Schalke website, “We have to win games and we have to score goals to get out of the relegation zone. I want to contribute to that. Schalke belongs in the Bundesliga and it is our responsibility to ensure that.”
Huntelaar played for Schalke between 2010 and 2017. He played 240 games, in which he scored 126 goals and gave 35 assists.
The striker could make his debut on Wednesday against Cologne.
