PSV Eindhoven boss Roger Schmidt believes Ajax are still the favourites to win the Eredivisie title.

PSV showed ambition before the transfer window shut by sealing a number of transfers, including the arrival of Mario Gotze.
At his press conference on Friday, Schmidt was asked if PSV are now title favourites, and he responded, “Winning prizes is always difficult. We are the challenger, PSV was fourth last year. Compare Ajax’s budget with PSV. The team with the highest budget is the favorite, that’s always the case in football. ‘
“But we now have an excellent selection. If all goes well, we could take the title. The main thing now is to focus on getting better. That is the most important.”
