The former Ajax assistant was appointed by Hoffenheim last summer on a contract until 2022. The club currently sits seventh in the Bundesliga, but disagreements over the future direction of Hoffenheim has led to Schreuder leaving.
He told the club’s website, “I was aware that the assignment in Hoffenheim would be a major challenge. I enjoyed doing the job. Unfortunately, we couldn’t agree on how we would lead Hoffenheim in the future. I regret this development. It is not uncommon to have different opinions. You have to be honest and accept the consequences. ”
Hoffenheim technical director Alexander Rosen added, “There were differences in important matters at the detail level, so that there was no point in further cooperation.”
