Hoffenheim have announced that Ajax assistant Alfred Schreuder will be their new head coach from next season.

Schreuder spent three years with the Bundesliga side as an assistant to Julian Nagelsmann. He was linked with joining his former boss at his new club Red Bull Leipzig but will instead be his replacement at Hoffenheim.

The 46-year-old, whose only head coaching role so far came at FC Twente, has signed a three-year contract with Hoffenheim, which begins in the summer.

Ajax have already announced that former Danish international Christian Poulsen will be Schreuder’s replacement.
