According to AS, Real Madrid could appoint Clarence Seedorf as an interim head coach until the end of the season should they decide to sack Santiago Solari.

Real Madrid’s Champions League exit to Ajax in midweek has led to speculation that Solari is set to be sacked by the Spanish giants.

Should Solari go, Real Madrid may look to appoint a new head coach until the end of the season before they approach one of their top candidates in the summer.

Seedorf was a guest at the Bernabeu for the game against Ajax and reportedly made a big impression on Real Madrid’s board members including chairman Florentino Perez. He has now jumped up to the top of the candidates list according to AS.

Seedorf is currently the head coach of Cameroon, having previously had short spells in charge of AC Milan and Deportivo La Coruna.

The former midfielder starred for Real Madrid between 1996 and 1999 and would presumably jump at the chance to take over his former club.
