Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the signing of Heracles Almelo captain Joey Pelupessy.

Heracles rejected an approach from New York City for their midfielder earlier this month but Sheffield Wednesday managed to convince the Almelo side to part with the 24-year-old.
Pelupessy joins Sheffield Wednesday on a multi-year contract with the Owls reportedly paying over €2 million for the former Twente youth product.
Pelupessy made 119 appearances for Heracles, scoring five goals and contributing six assists. He joins up with fellow Dutchmen Joost van Aken and Glen Loovens at the Championship side that is coached by Jos Luhukay.
