Cambuur Leeuwarden manager Sipke Hulshoff spoke to the NOS ahead of his team’s KNVB Cup semi-final away to AZ in Alkmaar.

The coach stated that a surprise win and place in the final would really put Cambuur Leeuwarden on the map. Cambuur are currently 6th in the Jupiler league and have defeated Ajax & FC Utrecht in previous rounds to reach the semi final
He said, ”Every question I get asked lately is about the cup semi final against AZ Alkmaar. I really hope that the match against AZ will be one that we never forget.
”Next year Leeuwarden will we be selected as the European capital city of culture 2018 and that along with a win in the semi-final of the KNVB Cup would really put the club on the map.
”We are not getting ahead of ourselves thinking about the final in De Kuip or even Europe at all. We are only focused on the match against AZ and the challenge that presents.”
