The young Dutch side controlled the possession but fell behind before the break with Adam Zrelák beating Mike van der Hoorn before curling a shot into the corner.
Seven minutes into the second half, Netherlands deservedly equalised when Luc Castaignos finished from close range after a knock down from Van der Hoorn.
Netherlands were then awarded a penalty on 66 minutes with Nathan Ake being fouled in the box, and Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena made no mistake from the spot.
Despite being second best, Slovakia managed to find a way back into the match through substitute Tomas Malec, who made it 2-2 with fifteen minutes to go.
Jurgen Locadia was then shown a red card late on after colliding with the Slovakian goalkeeper, and despite six minutes of added time, a winner for either side could not be found.
A disappointing performance by the young Dutch side, who made mistakes at the back, and were sloppy on the ball at the other end.
Netherlands remain top of the group, but are still level on points with Slovakia, who have played a game more, and three points ahead of Georgia and Scotland.
