sneijdhajjdSneijder was left out of the starting eleven by Galatasaray coach Cesare Prandelli, but eventually appeared as a second half substitute. Turkish newspaper Hurriyet are reporting that Sneijder was furious after the match, and went on a tirade against the club.

The Dutch midfielder is quoted as saying in the dressing room, “I am a world star, I’ve played in the World Cup final! I do not deserve this treatment.”

“Half a year ago I got the number 10 role and they promised me that I would be captain. It was said that new top players would be attracted but that has not happened.”

“Why have I had to train the past few days with the reserves? I wanted to discuss this, but the coach avoided me. ”

“I love to play for Galatasaray, but if they wan’t me to leave then they should say so. Not behind my back, but too my face.”

Sneijder has been with Galatasaray since 2013, and has constantly pledged his allegiance to the club, despite links to both Chelsea and Manchester United.
