Wesley Sneijder says new Netherlands coach Guus Hiddink is a lot more relaxed than his predecessor Louis van Gaal.

hiddink jddnThe 67 year old has taken charge of the national team for the second time after a spell from 1995 to 1998 with the task of guiding Netherlands to glory at the Euro 2016 championships.

Wesley Sneijder told De Telegraaf, “He is a lot more relaxed than Louis van Gaal.”

“This could be good for the group after two such intensive years. There is room for relaxation, but he is also firm and doesn’t accept laziness.

“With Louis, everything was more fixed. He was in fact more like a schoolmaster who was standing on the field and now it’s as if we’re with a nice uncle. But we also enjoyed ourselves terribly under Van Gaal.”

The national team did not get to the best of starts under Hiddink losing 2-0 to Italy in a friendly.
