The 33-year-old has been with Galatasaray since 2013 and has always stated his desire to remain in Turkey. However, his coach Igor Tudor has other ideas, telling Milliyet that Sneijder is not part of his plans.

Tudor said, “He is still an important footballer but as a club we have to make choices.

“In my system, I have no place to number ten. With him in my team, the eleven can’t play football and I do not think he can handle it physically.”

Sneijder still has one year left on his deal at Galatasaray and would cost any interested side around €7.5 million.
