The 33-year-old left OGC Nice in France for a journey to the middle-east, where he will play for Qatari side Al-Gharafa.
Sneijder said at a press conference, “I want to show my qualities and bring my experience to this team.
“I am aware that the Qatar League is developing and that the national team will host the World Cup in 2022.
“I also want to help young players improve and that way we will also improve our team.
“I came to Qatar to play football and I will only be concentrating on that and not other things.
Sneijder was also asked about the Dutch national team, “It’s a shame that my national team the Netherlands will not be at 2018 World Cup in Russia. We missed Euro 2016 to and I am sad for my people in the Netherlands because they deserve a World Cup. We finished 2nd and 3rd in 2010 and 2014 World Cup so it’s regretful we will not be in Russia this summer.”
