Fran Sol scored a hat-trick as Willem II hammered Heracles Almelo 5-0 in Tilburg.

For the first time this season, new Willem II attackers Donis Avdijaj and Aras Özbiliz started in the front three alongside Fran Sol, who was still looking for his first goal of the campaign.

The hosts took the lead in the 26th minute as Avdijaj found the corner with a lovely strike and before the half-hour mark, the German forward had his second, slotting in on the rebound after Daniel Crowley’s shot was saved. Heracles were all over the place and before the break, Sol got in on the act after an excellent cross by Özbiliz.

Heracles brought on Silvester van der Water for Kristoffer Peterson at the break but the change didn’t have an effect as Willem II continued to dominate. After the intervention of VAR, Sol scored his second from the penalty spot on 52 minutes and later the Spaniard completed his hat-trick with a fine finish after being sent through on goal.

After the win last week, Willem II now sit on six points, while Heracles taste defeat for the first time.
