Willem II came from behind to beat FC Twente 3-1 and lift themselves off the bottom of the table.

The hosts went into the game rooted to the bottom of the table but they bossed the start of the first half with Fran Sol missing two great chances to give them the lead.

It appeared that Twente would make Willem II pay for their wastefulness when Oussama Assaidi netted from the penalty spot with five minutes of the first half left. However, in first-half injury time, Sol rose to head Willem II level from a corner.

On the hour mark, Willem II took the lead when Sol’s header wasn’t dealt with in the Twente defence andĀ Ismail Azzaoui fired into the net from close range. Twente failed to react from falling behind and in the last minute, Sol netted his second to earn Willem II their second win of the campaign.

Willem II rise to 17th while Twente are 15th.
