Ronald Koeman confirmed his interest in signing the 20-year-old Dutchman from his former club today, and Southampton head of football development Les Reed has now filed a bid with Feyenoord chairman Martin van Geel.
The amount of the offer is not known, but Voetbal International believe that Vilhena wants to be reunited with Koeman at Southampton, as the Premier league side search for a replacement for departed midfielder Jack Cork.
Feyenoord are yet to respond to the offer, and more negotiations are set to take place on Saturday. The Rotterdam club do not want to lose the talented Netherlands U21 international unless a replacement is found.
