In a top-six clash on Friday, Sparta Rotterdam drew 1-1 with FC Twente.

The build up to the clash was focused on the Steijn family with Maurice in charge of Sparta Rotterdam and he came up against his son Sem, who began for Twente.

Both sides traded chances but the crowd had to wait until the hour mark for the first goal to come. Rather predictably it was Sam Steijn, who got the opener with a header.

The lead lasted less than ten minutes before Arno Verschueren fired Sparta level after being set up by Mike Eerdhuijzen.

A winner nearly came at both sides but the clash ended 1-1 and the points were shared. Twente are 4th, while Sparta remains sixth.
