Sparta Rotterdam have announced the signing of Utrecht forward Patrick Joosten on loan until the end of the season.

PEC Zwolle and VVV-Venlo were also hoping to sign the attacker, who can play on the wing or through the middle. However, it is Sparta Rotterdam, who have won the battle.

Sparta Technical manager Henk van Stee told the club’s website, “He is technically skilled and has depth in his game.

“There was a lot of interest in him from other Eredivisie clubs, but we’re glad he chose Sparta to strengthen us until the end of this season.”

Joosten has played seven times for Utrecht this season, scoring no goals.
