Sparta Rotterdam technical manager Henk van Stee has confirmed the club has rejected an offer from Eintracht Frankfurt for striker Ragner Ache.

Ache has been heavily linked with a move to his hometown club next month after a good start to the campaign with Sparta.

However, speaking to Sparta TV, Henk van Stee confirmed that Eintracht Frankfurt’s first bid was too low.

He said, “We have received an offer for Ache

“If we had received it seven months ago, we would have accepted it, but not now. He has developed and shows the Spartan mentality that we would like to see. If the right offer that we cannot refuse comes, he will leave, but then they will have to dig very deep into their pockets. “

Van Stee confirmed the club would be open to selling Ache and loaning him back, “But we need two parties for that. It’s not that we have to, but the finances demand that we have to sell players occasionally

“The only question is whether you will receive another bid for Ache in a year’s time. You don’t know. We are just waiting and are only halfway through the season. In the coming period we will wait if there will be more candidates come, or that they pay the right amount what we want. “
