Sparta Rotterdam have bolstered their midfield with the signing of Bryan Smeets from Top Oss on a two-year deal.

After their promotion to the Eredivisie, Sparta Rotterdam are busy strengthening their squad and on Thursday they confirmed the signing of Smeets.
The 26-year-old made a name for himself in 2016 when he scored the goal for De Graafschap that denied Ajax the title on the final day of the season. He then joined Cambuur before spending last season with Top Oss.
Smeets was one of the top performers for Oss last season as they reached the end of season playoffs. The attacking midfielder has now signed a two-year deal with Sparta Rotterdam.
Sparta director Henk van Stee told the club’s website, “Bryan has proven in the past to have many qualities and a good mentality. With TOP Oss he has had a very successful season, in which he played an important part in the good performances. We are convinced that he can also be of value at the highest level and we are happy to be able to take him to the Premier League. ”
Smeets scored 12 goals in 37 league games last season, while also adding eight assists.
