Sparta Rotterdam were too strong for Cambuur on Saturday and they left Leeuwarden with a 3-0 victory.

The visitors only needed nine minutes to open the scoring with Tobias Lauritsen a lovely strike past Joao Virgínia from just outside the box.

Virginia then gifted Sparta the ball in the 18th minute with a poor kick and Sven Mijnans played in Koki Saito to make it 2-0.

Sparta were comfortable and they extended their lead in the 51st minute as Lauritsen was brought down and Vito van Crooij scored the resulting penalty.

Cambuur could not find a way back into the game and Sparta played out the second half comfortably to record the three points. They are in sixth while Cambuur is bottom of the table.
