Sparta Rotterdam have signed Mathias Pogba, the older brother of Manchester United star Paul Pogba.

Earlier on Wednesday, Scottish side Partick Thistle announced that they had terminated the contract of the 26-year-old, and Sparta have worked quickly to bring the striker to Rotterdam.
Sparta coach Alex Pastoor raved about his new forward to the clubs website, “With the arrival of Mathias Pogba we increase our diversity in attack. Besides the fact that he’s big and strong he also brings more opportunities with him in terms of playing style. That is partly because of his international experience, including in the Scottish and Italian league. ”
The man himself added, “The transition to Sparta is a great step in my career. The Eredivisie is a very nice platform for football players in Europe and is still well regarded. I close tomorrow with the selection and look forward to performing with Sparta.”
Pogba played for Quimper, Wrexham, Crewe, Pescara, and Crawley Town before joining Partick Thistle last year. He made 25 league appearances in Scotland last season, scoring twice.
