The 26-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract with Eredivisie champions PSV, having already served the Eindhoven club since 2015.

Last winter, Rennes sent scouts to watch Isimat-Mirin more closely and according to ED, the interest in the French centre-back has returned as the summer approaches.

Isimat-Mirin isn’t the only PSV player attracting foreign interest, with Gastón Pereiro and Hirving Lozano also tempting suitors.

Apart from loanee Marco van Ginkel’s return to Chelsea, PSV have only lost one player so far this summer; Joshua Brenet has departed for German side Hoffenheim.

In terms of incomings, Ajax’s Nick Viergever has arrived on a free transfer and 19-year-old striker Maximiliano Romero will join the squad too following an eight million euro move from Argentinans Vélez Sarsfield.

I'm a physics student from the UK and a massive Eredivisie fan. Started watching after being inspired by the Netherlands national team after the 2010 World Cup. Wilfred Bouma also has a big part to play in my initial keen interest in the league, being a Villa fan meant I wanted to keep track of my favourite player.
