FC Cincinnati Chairman Jeff Berding has confirmed that Jaap Stam is the main candidate for their vacant head coach role.

Since Ron Jans left his role with the club earlier this year, FC Cincinnati have been looking for a new coach. Jaap Stam’s name has been constantly linked, but director Gerard Nijkamp wouldn’t confirm whether he was the top candidate.
However, speaking to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Jeff Berding was more concrete, “I wouldn’t want to label him as the only candidate, but he’s the main candidate.
“We need to do some extra work.”
Currently the border to the United States is closed, making it impossible for Stam to travel to Cincinnati at the moment.
