After eight months out of action with a anterior cruciate ligament injury Kevin Strootman returned to Roma action in their win over Torino.

strootmrominjThe midfielder came on as an 84th minute substitute as Roma ran out 3-0 winners, and every touch the Dutchman made on the ball was met with ecstatic cheers from the home crowd.

Strootman told the official Roma site after the match, “It was great to feel the support of the fans,”

“It’s a beautiful day. To be back on the field gives me a wonderful feeling. I have had eight months of hard work on my recovery, now I’m ready.”

The 24-year-old added that he hopes his return will lead to success for the club, “I think Roma are this season stronger than last year. We want to win everything and of course would quite like the title.”
