The midfielder has struggled with injuries since joining Roma from PSV in 2013 but has played a major part with the club this season, as they battle for the Serie A title.

La Gazetta dello Sport is now reporting that Roma’s rivals Inter Milan have been impressed by the Dutchman this season and are ready to sanction a €40 million move this summer.

The Milan giants have the financial backing of the Suning Group and are prepared to offer the 27-year-old an annual salary of €5 million to leave Rome. The newspaper is reporting that there has already been talks held by Strootman’s representatives and the Suning group.
