Netherlands were not at their best on the night but a Memphis Depay goal was enough to secure the victory.

Captain for the night, Kevin Strootman said, ”We did not play well tonight. It was a small pitch and the tempo at which we played tonight was far too slow. I think our victory is only good for the FIFA rankings.

”We are playing such friendly games due to the fact that we did not qualify for the World Cup 2018 in Russia. We were also not even involved in the play-offs.

”We still had a duty to play well in front of the supporters that have traveled from the Netherlands and also the supporters watching the match on television.

”Everybody is fully aware of the situation that the Dutch national team is in.”
