Heerenveen’s poor form continued on Thursday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by RKC Waalwijk.

After eight games in a row without a win, Heerenveen were hoping for three points against RKC Waalwijk.

In the 7th minute, Joey Veerman set up Henk Veerman to net the opening goal for the hosts. It was Joey Veerman’s seventh assist and Veerman’s eleventh goal of the campaign.

It was a great start for Heerenveen but they could not build on it and RKC eventually began to take control. In the 56th minute, RKC got the equaliser they deserved through Richard van der Venne.

The best chance for the winning goal fell to RKC but Vitalie Damascan’s shot was tipped onto the post by Erwin Mulder.

Heerenveen sits ninth while RKC Waalwijk are 15th.
