Ajax are desperate for Schone to sign a new deal at the club, but the 28-year-old is keen to explore his options this January, before deciding whether to commit his future to the Eredivisie champions.
According to Voetbal International, both Napoli and Sunderland are keeping a close eye on the midfielders contract situation, and they could tempt Ajax into selling at a cut-price deal in January rather than risk losing him for free this summer.
Schone joined Ajax in 2012 from NEC Nijmegen and has so far netted 29 goals in 99 appearances for the club, whilst earning 20 caps for the Danish national team.
Ajax are set to extend the contracts of Danish pair Nicolai Boilesen and Lucas Andersen, while they today agreed a new deal with Jasper Cillessen, who will now stay at the club until 2018.
