The Dutchman nearly joined Derby County in the summer but the move broke down at the last minute. He has since made 18 appearances in the Championship but with his contract expiring in six months a January exit from Birmingham is likely.

According to the Daily Mirror, both Hull City and Sunderland are interested in signing the 27-year-old and are preparing to make offers to Birmingham City.

Kieftenbeld has been a regular for Birmingham City since joining from Groningen in 2015. He has made a total of 106 appearances, scoring five goals.
