Mauro Junior came off the bench to score and provide an assist as PSV Eindhoven defeated Emmen 2-0.

PSV were without head coach Roger Schmidt for the clash with Emmen as the head coach was suspended. Cody Gakpo, Mario Götze, Noni Madueke and Mo Ihattaren also missed the clash.

Assistant Lars Kornetka was in charge and he watched on as Donyell Malen, Eran Zahavi and Ibrahim Sangare all missed good chances to open the scoring. At the other end,  Jari Vlak hit the post in a rare Emmen attack.

PSV still struggled after the break until substitute Mauro Junior broke the deadlock in fortunate circumstances. In the 81st minute, the Brazilian’s cross beat everyone and ended up in the net.

Mauro then crossed for Zahavi to nod in and seal the points for PSV. The only worry was captain Denzel Dumfries being carried of before the end.

PSV move second and a point behind Ajax while Emmen are rock bottom.
