Dusan Tadic has pledged the rest of his playing career to Ajax by signing a seven year contract.

The 30-year-old Serbian’s previous deal lasted until 2022, but he has extended that until 2023 as a player. However, his new contract lasts until 2026 as he will begin coaching in Ajax’s academy when he decides to retire.

Tadic told the Ajax website, “This is a very nice day for me and I hope for the fans too. We have had a great season, but I have been very happy here from the moment I joined this special club. I think everything here is great. I have a good relationship with the fans, the staff, the players and everyone who works for the club.

“It’s great when a club offers you such a contract. It is a motivation for me to show even more. It also gives me more responsibility and I love that.”

Tadic joined Ajax from Southampton last summer and had an excellent season in Amsterdam. He scored 38 goals and gave 24 assists in 56 appearances.
