The midfielder was coming into the final two years of his deal in Amsterdam and was reportedly looking for assurances over playing time before committing his future to the club.
On Friday, Ajax confirmed that the Netherlands U21 international had signed a new deal that commits him to the club until 2027. Taylor has also been given the number eight shirt vacated by Ryan Gravenberch.
Taylor told the Ajax website, “For me, the perfect picture is that I will be a starting player for Ajax next season.
“That’s what I want most, it would be the best next step in my development. I’ll have to show it myself, under new trainer Alfred Schreuder. It’s up to me to show it and that’s what I focus on. As long as I have perspective, leaving is out of the question. That is obvious. Club Brugge recently showed interest, but I want to become a basic player at Ajax. And I have a lot of confidence in that.”
The 20-year-old has made 22 appearances for Ajax.
