Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag is not interested in rumours linking him with the now vacant Manchester United job.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked as head coach of the English giants on Sunday and Ten Hag is one of the names linked with the position.

After Ajax’s 5-0 win over RKC, Ten Hag was asked about the vacant position at Old Trafford by ESPN, “I cannot do anything with this. We have a brilliant squad and we want to achieve a lot. That is what I focus on. The rest is just a distraction.

“I expect from my players that they are focused on Ajax, so I have to give the right example for that too.”

ESPN reporter Hans Kraay Jr kept pushing for reassurance that Ten Hag would not leave Ajax, “Those are strange questions, Hans. Let me put it this way: I don’t know anything, I haven’t heard anything, so I don’t have to worry about that at all. I only focus on Ajax.”
