The 47-year-old took over from the sacked Marcel Keizer late last month and is preparing his new squad for the second-half of the season.

Ten Hag said on taking over in Amsterdam, ”I never doubted myself when I had the opportunity to become Ajax manager. I was completely convinced it was the best decision to come to Ajax even though we are halfway through the current Eredivisie season.

Ten Hag isn’t sure whether any new faces will join the club in the next few weeks, ”I have to evaluate my squad first and help to develop players before I think about the transfer market.”

Before taking over Utrecht, Ten Hag was coaching Bayern Munich II. He believes that working with then Bayern head coach Pep Guardiola has helped to mould his tactical st”Working at Bayern Munich under Pep Guardiola helped to sharpen my already formed vision of football and always wanting to win and playing attacking football ”.
