Football Manager 2019 is now out and we have once again assembled a list of the best young Dutch prospects in the game. All players are 21 or under at the beginning of the season.

Kjell Scherpen

Position: Goalkeeper, Age: 18 Club: FC Emmen Value: £160k

Want a promising goalkeeper at a low price, Kjell Scherpen is your man. He is part of the FC Emmen first team already at the age of 18 and can progress into an excellent goalkeeper over a few years.

Jesper Schendelaar

Position: Goalkeeper Age: 17 Club: AZ Alkmaar Value: £190k

In last years edition, Schendelaar was one of the best young goalkeepers in the game and the 2019 Football Manager is no different. The 17-year-old already has excellent stats at the start of the game and develops quickly.

Rick van Drongelen

Position: Centre-Back/Left-Back Age: 19 Club: Hamburg Value: £2.2 million

Hamburg’s relegation from the Bundesliga hasn’t hurt Van Drongelen’s reputation in the game but has made him a bargain buy if you are looking for a versatile defender.

Capable of playing in two positions, Van Drongelen possesses excellent stats for a 19-year-old defender and can slot straight into your side.

Perr Schuurs

Position: Centre-back Age: 18 Club: Ajax Value: £775k

Schuurs move from Fortuna Sittard to Ajax in the summer has seen the young defender get an upgrade in this year’s game and he is a fine young centre-back. He is also capable of playing on the right and in midfield. Develop him over a couple of years and he can be an excellent addition to your team.

Tyrell Malacia

Position: Left-Back Age: 18 Club: Feyenoord Value: £450K

Currently a part of Feyenoord’s first team, Malacia is also one of the best young full-back’s in Football Manager this year. His stats all round are decent for his age and he gets much better after a few years of development. If you are looking for a young left-back, Malacia is your man.

Matthijs de Ligt

Position: Centre-Back Age: 18 Club: Ajax Value: £7.25 million

De Ligt is, of course, a beast for Ajax and in Football Manager he is one of the, if not the best young defender around. His stats are excellent for a ball-playing centre-back and he can also be pushed into a DM position.

De Ligt is wanted by every big club in Europe and in the game it is no different, so don’t expect to pick the Dutch international up easily or cheaply.

Kik Pierie

Position: Centre-back, full-back, Age: 17 Club: Heerenveen Value: £575k

Can’t afford De Ligt? Kik Pierie is the next best option and is capable of playing in every position along the defence. He is at his best as a centre-back and given a few years can be a first team option at any club in the game.

Teun Koopmeiners

Position: DM/Centre Midfielder/CB Age: 20 Club: AZ Alkmaar Value: £1.8 million

Koopmeiners is excelling in the AZ Alkmaar midfield and is now one of the finest playmakers in the Eredivisie according to Football Manager. The 20-year-old has played in defence for AZ and he can be used their in the game but his defensive stats aren’t as strong and he is more influential as a deep-lying midfielder. His passing is excellent and is a dangerous set piece taker.

Kenneth Taylor

Age: 16 Position: DM/MC/CB/MR Club: Ajax Value: £96k

One of the lesser-known gems of the Ajax academy, Taylor is one to keep an eye on over the next few years. In this year’s Football-Manager, he is an exceptional talent, capable of playing in several positions. At 16 he has great all round stats and can be excellent a few years into the game.

Frenkie de Jong

Position: DM, CM, CB Age: 21 Club: Ajax Value: £7.75 million

Frenkie de Jong is the talk of Europe at the moment and each day seems to bring a new link to one of Europe’s biggest clubs. Probably for the last year, De Jong starts Football Manager with Ajax but is already being circled by several clubs.

If you can get your hands on him or prevent him from leaving Amsterdam, then you have one of the finest midfielders in the game. However, if you fancy playing him in the centre of defence, his stats aren’t nearly as good. He is at his best playing deep in midfield. Just look at those passing, dribbling and flair stats below. ?

Achraf el Bouchataoui

Age: 18 Position: DM, MC Club: Feyenoord Value: £230K

Possibly the brightest talent in the Feyenoord academy at the start of the game is El Bouchataoui. The central midfielder is full of creativity and can be developed into a fine central midfielder over a few years.

Ryan Gravenberch

Age: 16 Position: DM, MC, AM, LW Club: Ajax Value: £250k

A new addition for this years game, Gravenberch is going places if Football Manager is to be believed. The midfielder has already made his Ajax debut and in the game he is on the cusp of being ready for Eredivisie action already.

After De Jong and De Ligt he is probably the third biggest talent to be picked up in Amsterdam. His stats make him capable of playing anywhere in the midfield and even on the wing.

Immanuel Pherai

Age: 17 Position: CM, AM Club: Borussia Dortmund Value: £300K

A Dutch gem in the Dortmund academy, Pherai swapped AZ’s academy for Germany in 2018 and he has been making waves since. An uber-talented attacking midfielder who has excellent creative stats, Pherai is one to develop in Football Manager.

Mohammed Ihattaren

Age: 16 Position: AM, LW, RW Club: PSV Eindhoven Value: £110K

The most promising talent in the PSV academy at the moment, Ihattaren is pushing for a first team debut and in Football Manager he has big potential. His stats aren’t as high as many others on this list at the start of the game but he can be developed into one of the finest attacking midfielders into the game.

Cyriano Summerville

Age: 17 Position: RW Club: Feyenoord Value: £150K

Summerville is a pint-sized speed demon in the Feyenoord academy and his stats in Football Manager show that. His pace is already up at 15 at the start of the game, while his dribbling, first touch and technique stats are high. Give it a few years and he will be an excellent winger for your side

Calvin Stengs

Age: 19 Position: Winger Club: AZ Alkmaar Value: £1.6 million

Stengs was being called the new Arjen Robben before his horrible injury at the start of last season. He starts Football Manager 2019 injured but he is one of the best young wingers in the game and will quickly be snapped up by a big club. His stats are excellent all round and he only gets better.

A must buy this year!

Tahith Chong

Age: 18 Position: AM/Winger/Striker Club: Manchester United Value: £4.5 million

Already highly valued at the start of the game without making his first-team debut, Chong is a massive prospect in the Manchester United academy. He is at his best on the wings, but Chong can also be developed into a number 10 or striker.

Justin Kluivert

Age: 18 Position: Winger Club: Roma Value: £8.75 million

Kluivert’s move from Ajax to Roma has seen his stats get a bump this year and he begins the game as a massive talent. His pace, dribbling and technique stats are high and if you can develop the rest of his game then Kluivert is one of the best wingers to have in the game after a few years.

Steven Bergwijn

Age: 20 Position: Winger/AM Club: PSV Eindhoven Value: £7 million

The brightest talent in Eindhoven, Bergwijn has been an excellent talent in Football Manager for years and this edition is no different. Bergwijn has all the talent to be one of the best attackers in the game after a few years and can be developed into several positions. He has been used as a striker for Netherlands U21’s but he is not seen as a striker in the game.

Javairo Dilrosun

Age: 20 Position: Winger Club: Hertha Berlin Value: £7 million

The winger has been making big waves since joining Hertha Berlin from Manchester City this summer and was recently called up by Netherlands for the first time. His rise has also seen him become a big prospect in Football Manager and he has excellent stats for a winger. 16 for crossing and dribbling already, while his pace and finishing are also big.

Joel Piroe

Age: 18 Position: Striker Club: PSV Eindhoven Value: £205K

Piroe has been an excellent prospect in Football Manager for years and he is still one of the best young Dutch strikers you can find in the game. He isn’t a world beater at the start but he can be developed into an excellent finisher.

Joshua Zirkzee

Age: 17 Position: Striker Club: Bayern Munich Value: 400K

Possibly the best young Dutch striker in this years game, Zirkzee starts in the Bayern Munich reserve side but quickly becomes a first-team starter and a Netherlands international.

His stats are all excellent for a striker his age and he becomes a superstar.

Daishawn Redan

Age: 17 Position: Striker Club: Chelsea Value: £225k

Redan has been a sensation for Chelsea and Netherlands youth sides over the last year and unsurprisingly he is a big talent in Football Manager. His stats are probably not as high as they should be but he can be developed into a fine striker. Is at his best as a poacher or second striker and not a target man.

Brian Brobbey

Age: 16 Position: Striker Club: Ajax Value: £120K

If you want a target man to develop then Brian Brobbey is your man.

He makes his debut in this years edition and is one of the finest young strikers in the Netherlands. Brobbey’s finishing is already at 15 while his strength, composure, heading, and team work stats are all high and make him a perfect target man.

Myron Boadu

Age: 17 Club: AZ Alkmaar Position: Winger/Striker Value: £1.5 million

Boadu was making a big impression in the Eredivisie this season before he broke his leg and he deservedly starts Football Manager as one of the finest young attackers in the Eredivisie. He can play anywhere in the attack and can form an excellent partnership with Calvin Stengs if you can keep them both at AZ for long.

Football Manager state his best position is on the wing but his finishing ability and pace means he can be developed into a deadly centre-forward.

That is our list for this year. Who are you looking forward to buying or playing with or have we missed someone out? Let us know in the comments box below.
